A bin is set up for book collection by the warehouse. You must park in the rear parking lot and enter through the warehouse.Drop off at this facility is limited to the hours of 8:30am to 4:00pm, Monday through Friday.Place your materials in a box clearly labeled on the outside with “Perkins Library, Attn: Access and Delivery Services”.Here are some specific notes for the use of this facility: Duke’s off-site shipping and receiving facility is located at 100 Golden Drive, Durham, NC 27705. You may also return your books off campus, at the Golden Warehouse. Off-campus, but local: visit the Golden Warehouse Please obtain a tracking number for your package! You may return your library books through the mail. (Telcom Drive runs right behind the Divinity School’s Westbrook building.) On Friday, April 30, from 1pm-3pm, please bring any and all library books you have to return: we will have carts available to collect them! The Divinity Library does Curbside Take-out at the Telcom Circle on Friday afternoons from 1pm-3pm. (Remember, the Divinity School can only be accessed by your Duke ID.) All returned library books will be quarantined for 48 hours before they are checked in-so even after you return your books, they will stay listed as loans on your account for some time. You may return your books on campus, either at the external book drop at Perkins Library’s main entrance (off the quad) or at the Divinity Library. If you have any questions about returning items, please feel free to ask a staff member at one of our service desks, or give us a call.Locations: Divinity Library (requires building access), or Perkins/Bostock (see map below) We hope these options provide a convenient way for you to return your Library materials. We do not return books to school or academic libraries.Therefore, we highly recommend that you return items directly to the lending library if possible, so you can have a record of returning it. We cannot print a receipt or provide proof that you returned an item from another library here, because we cannot check it in for you.This can take several days, and you will be responsible for late fees if items are not delivered by the due date. All items from other local libraries are sent through a courier system to a sorting station before they are delivered to the library where they belong. Because we cannot check-in items from another library (and they cannot check-in items you borrow from us), you may incur fines if you do not allow for transit time.Likewise, if you return one of our items at another library, the item will not be checked in until we receive it here. ![]() So, while we will return materials to another public library for you, we cannot check-in items from your account at another library.
